Anti-domestic Violence Campaign
VOICES
AGAINST VIOLENCE urge Miami-Dade County residents to “Speak
up. Get Help. Be Safe.”
Miami - Women's
Fund of Miami-Dade will kick off its VOICES AGAINST VIOLENCE
domestic violence public awareness campaign at 9:00 a.m.
Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 5275 Sunset Drive, Miami.
Volunteers will distribute 10,000 postcards with domestic
violence hotline information in English, Spanish and Creole
to hospitals, social service agencies, clinics, doctor’s
offices, beauty salons and other participating organizations
throughout Miami-Dade County.
VOICES AGAINST
VIOLENCE is a public awareness campaign created by Women's
Fund of Miami-Dade and funded by the Miami-Dade County
Domestic Violence Oversight Board. The goal of the campaign
is to encourage victims and witnesses to call the statewide
domestic violence hotline and use their voices to end
domestic violence. VOICES AGAINST VIOLENCE ads will appear
on Miami-Dade transit buses, in radio public service
announcements and on 100 interior cards in Miami-Dade
transit buses, in addition to the 10,000 postcards.
Women’s Fund of
Miami-Dade grant-making program began in 1993. Since then,
the organization has supported more than 225 unique projects
and organizations and has nurtured some of the most
innovative gender-specific programs in Miami-Dade
County. Women’s Fund encourages women to realize the power
of their personal philanthropy to create social change.
