Women's Fund of Miami-Dade Wins
2007 Diamond Award
Miami – Today, Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade was honored with
The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce 2007 Diamond Award for
outstanding performance in the Small Non-Profit Category.
Every year, seven businesses are recognized for their
outstanding performance among five criteria: business
achievement, business involvement, community involvement,
customer service and workplace environment. Organizations
nominated in the Small Non-Profit Category have annual
budgets of less than $5 million.
“We are so honored to be selected by the business community.
This award is a testament to the businesses in Miami-Dade
who recognize the quality of our management of the
community’s assets and our work towards improving the
quality of life for all South Floridians,” said Claudia
Kitchens, Executive Director of Women's Fund of Miami-Dade.
The two other outstanding finalists in the Small Non-Profit
Category were Suited for Success and Guardianship Program of
Dade County, Inc.
Women's Fund of Miami-Dade was founded in 1993 to fill the
enormous funding gap that existed for programs addressing
the unmet needs of women and girls. Throughout Women’s
Fund’s 14-year history of grant making, the organization has
supported over 200 unique projects across the County. The
Fund’s grant selection process, technical assistance to
organizations that serve women and girls and commitment to
funding emerging programs are models for other grantmaking
organizations and donors throughout South Florida. The
Fund’s website is www.womensfundimami.org
