Women-of-Color Led Reproductive Justice

Reproductive Justice considers the full range of lived experience across race and class and addresses the many social, political and economic issues that prevent millions of women from exercising their rights and accessing affordable care. Women’s Fund Reproductive Justice Initiative is made possible with a matching grant from Groundswell’s Catalyst Fund of Tides Foundation and the donations of Women’s Fund supporters. Meet the dynamic organizations making a difference in our community:

Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (FIAC) empowers immigrant women to seek justice for employment abuse and educate the larger community about the challenges immigrant women experience in exercising their rights.

MI LOLA has built a strong reputation as a reproductive justice advocate locally, nationally, and internationally and equips young immigrant women with the knowledge and tools to advocate for the needs of their communities.

National Farm Worker Ministry empowers women in working in Miami-Dade’s agricultural industry to seek redress when existing workplace regulations, that seek to protect women from the hazards of pesticides, are ignored by employers.

Power U Center for Social Change seeks to preserve the midwife model of care and change county policy to make midwifery care and childbirth preparation classes available within the county hospital system.

Sisterhood of Survivors organizes survivors of domestic abuse to speak out against practices by local police departments that adversely affect the safety and protection of domestic violence survivors, especially those with immigration issues.

Urgent, Inc seeks to empower young women to articulate a youth-driven advocacy agenda that increases access to comprehensive sex education and furthers responsible decision-making about their reproductive health.

The Reproductive Justice Initiative recognizes that all individuals are part of communities and our strategies must lift up entire communities to support individuals. Donate today and your gift will be matched, dollar for dollar!
