Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade
County is a catalyst for social change, creating a community
where all women and girls reach their full potential. Our
grant making along with advocacy, training and community
building are the key elements used to achieve our goals.
Historically, Women’s Fund
has provided grants and technical assistance to the most
under-served and deserving women and girls in our
community. Board members and staff, since our inception,
have provided funding and support to nurture innovative
grassroots projects to great success. Additionally Women’s
Fund has increased its role as the central point for
advocacy and community building on issues impacting
underserved women and girls. The Women’s Fund seeks to
increase the impact of our work in the community through
enhancing our communications.
As the Communications
Coordinator, this staff member will amplify the work of the
Women’s Fund through a strategic communications program.
Key Responsibilities:

Work in close partnership
with staff and board members to develop and implement a
comprehensive communications plan.

Manage media relations, including
preparing press releases and developing press kits.

Develop public relations strategies and
respond to inquiries from the media.

Manage and update Women’s
Fund Website.
-
Coordinate all electronic
communications including: Women’s Fund E-news, Advocacy
Alerts, and Event E-vites.

Create and manage
publication of: newsletter, annual report, grants
brochure, invitations & programs
-
Provide
communications support for the Portrait Research
Project. “Portrait of Women and Girls in Miami-Dade
County”
Qualifications
-
Ability to work in a
fast-paced, team-oriented and entrepreneurial
environment.

Excellent computer skills
including understanding of or experience with Microsoft
FrontPage, Microsoft Excel, Emma, Time Matters and Get
Active.

Excellent written and
verbal communication skills.
-
Knowledge of social
change work.
-
Ability to effectively
communicate with diverse constituencies, such as
individual donors, corporate marketing departments,
major foundations, non-profit managers, volunteers and
the underserved communities of women in Miami-Dade
County.

Experience managing
multiple projects and completing projects within hard
deadlines.
